Mink Jawandor

Mink Jawandor, a native of Freetown now living and educated in the U.S., shares a powerful firsthand account of surviving the Sierra Leone civil war. Drawing from personal experience and academic training in political science and public administration, Jawandor reflects on the devastating impact of poor leadership, corruption, and political instability. Influenced by Martin Meredith’s The Fate of Africa, his work sheds light on the ongoing struggles in Sierra Leone nearly three decades after the conflict.
